Is there a fee for the services provided by MassMedLine?
MassMedLine is a free service available to all residents of Massachusetts.
Who funds MassMedLine?
MassMedLine is a public/private partnership between the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. MassMedLine also receives private funding from donors for special projects and outreach.
How do I contact MassMedLine?
Is MassMedLine an insurance company?
No. MassMedLine is an information and referral service. We do not provide coverage for your medication MassMedLine does review your information to see if you qualify for state and federal insurance programs.
Is there an application for MassMedLine?
There is no application for MassMedLine since we are not an insurance program. MassMedLine does however have a Patient Profile Form that can be completed and mailed to our office. This form asks the same questions we ask over the phone and helps up screen for state, federal and private assistance programs.
Are there income qualifications for MassMedLine?
No. MassMedLine provides information and referrals for all Massachusetts regardless or income. Certain programs we refer to do have eligibility guidelines. MassMedLine specialists will be able to distinguish which programs may fit your individual situation.
Do you provide free medication or money towards medications?
No. MassMedLine is unable to provide funding nor medications directly, however MassMedLine specialists can review your situation to see if you qualify for state, federal, or private programs that can provide you free or reduced cost medications.

Do you provide information about medications?
Yes. MassMedLine is staff by licensed pharmacists and has access to the resources of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Pharmacists can answer a variety of pharmacy related questions such as:
Does MassMedLine provide training and presentations?
Yes. MassMedLine conducts training and informational presentations throughout Massachusetts to both health care professionals and consumers. For more information or to request a presentation please visit our community outreach page.
Does MassMedLine assist pharmacies and doctors’ offices?
Yes. MassMedLine specialists can assist pharmacies with billing and insurance dilemmas. MassMedLine can also assist doctors’ offices with researching insurance information, prior authorizations, and providing alternative medication information.
Will my personal information be shared with other companies?
No. MassMedLine complies with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Privacy Rule. HIPAA protects the privacy of individually identifiable health information. Any information provided to MassMedLine is secured. No information is shared to a third party unless a client specifically grants permission to do so.
