MassHealth (Medicaid)

MassHealth is the Massachusetts Medicaid program that offers health care coverage for some low-income and moderate-income people who live in Massachusetts. MassHealth has several programs with different benefits.  Some programs pay for a lot of different services, such as visiting a doctor, getting medicine, and all hospital visits.  Other programs pay for less benefits.  For more information on the different types of programs offered under MassHealth or to apply please visit their website or call the MassHealth Enrollment Center at 1-888-665-9993 and ask for a “Medical Benefits Request” (MBR) application.  If you are over 65, ask for a “Universal Application” instead.  If you are disabled, ask for a “Disability Supplement for Children” form or a “Disability Supplement for Adults” form instead of the MBR.

The application process can take a few months so it is recommended to contact MassMedLine to seek assistance for the cost of your medications in the meantime. You can complete a MassMedLine Patient Profile or call MassMedLine directly to see what programs may be available to help you.
