Medicare’s Extra Help
You may be able to get extra help to pay for the monthly premiums, annual deductibles, and co-payments of your Medicare Prescription Drug plan. You must meet income and asset guidelines for the year 2010.
You should consider completing an application for Extra Help if you are:
- If you married and your combined income is less than $21,855 and your savings, investments, and real estate are not worth more than $25,010 or
- If you are a single individual and your income is below $16,245 and your savings, investments, and real estate are not worth more than $12,510
*Note: Do not include the home you live in, vehicles, personal possessions, burial plots, irrevocable burial contracts or back payments from Social Security or SSI.
